My Story
Dr. Dennis Breese originates from Southern California and has strong ties to Cooranbong, NSW. Dennis came to Cooranbong 25 years ago to study at Avondale College. It didn't take much convincing as he was told the beach wasn't too far away! He wanted surf and experience the Aussie lifestyle.

After growing up in Southern California near Loma Linda, he left the USA to study teaching in Australia. After completing a Bachelors of Arts degree in 2004 from Avondale University in Fine Art and Secondary Teaching in 2008, he and his wife headed back to California. He taught high school art as well as other subjects in Orange County at a small SDA school.

Having personally experienced disabling back pain at different stages of his life, Dennis pivoted from a career in secondary teaching to study physiotherapy. He wanted to learn about his own back issues. After five intense years of university, he earned his title as a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University in California in 2015.

After he graduated from university he worked in different rehab settings including orthopaedic private practice, pediatric surf rehab, and home community care. Notably, he worked as a home care physio in California during Covid and treated a wide variety of patients.

Dennis possesses personal insight and empathy, enabling him to understand the profound impact pain can have on people's lives. He is a compassionate advocate for his patient's wellbeing and happiness and is committed to guiding his patients through their journey of recovery.

Dennis has general AHPRA registration and is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and continues to be registered in California.
Because of his qualifications and additional PD courses, and values life long learning, Dennis has expertise in a wide range of areas including acute and chronic back pain, vertigo, balance issues, muscle strains/ sprains, upper and lower extremity injuries as well as neurological and cardiovascular impairments.

Outside of work you can find Dennis surfing near Catherine Hill Bay, painting coastal beach scenes on canvas, spending time with his family at the beach or mountain biking on local tracks.
